Hurricane Irma could hit South Florida by this weekend with damage and winds up 160 mph.

Forecasters are predicting a category 5 storm coming from the Caribbean.

Hurricane warnings have been issued for many islands in the path of Irma including the U.S. Territory of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. Conditions will get worst by Wednesday evening in most of the Caribbean.

Shelters are being opened in preparation for the storm.

A Category 5 is the strongest on the hurricane strength scale and damage from this storm could catastrophic.
