White Teen Who Lied About Black Men Raping Her Indicted

Earlier this year Breana Rachelle Talbott ran into a church half naked and claimed she was not only being kidnapped, but raped by three Black men.

When Talbott went into the church she was only wearing undergarments and a t-shirt covered in blood.

Later authorities found out she had lied about this story and it sent social media users into attack mode.

The 19-year-old this week though according to The Root was indicted on two third-degree felony counts.

While she was only supposed to be charged for a misdemeanor a Texas District Attorney Joe Brown said, “The more we have looked at what happened in this case, and considered the harm it caused, and certainly could have caused, we believe what she did fits these higher charges. What she did was very serious, and we believe it was felony conduct.”

Talbott could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

Denison police said, “Breana Harmon Talbott’s hoax was also insulting to our community and especially offensive to the African-American community due to her description of the so-called suspects in her hoax. The anger and hurts caused from such a hoax are difficult and all so unnecessary.”
