Charles Perry’s superhero power lies within his incredible voice. Unique vocals with a niche for that old-school sound makes the rising soul singer a standout among the crowd.

His recently released EP, The Soul Superhero blends rock, soul and funk into four electric tracks.

“It is the gospel according to the soul superhero,” Charles explained during a recent interview with #TeamBeautiful. ‘It’s the electricity and sexiness of rock and roll, the funk of Pete Parliament and the execution of a jazz singer.”

Much of Perry’s style was inspired grandfather, who is a Du Wop legend.

“I would go in there and try on my grandfather’s clothes,” he said. “He had so much swag.”

Watch Perry talk about his musical influences and how his music differs from today’s artist, above.
