R&B singers Ne-Yo, Rihanna and Keri Hilson have snagged performances during next month’s Super Bowl weekend.
Both Ne-Yo and Hilson have been confirmed for an event two days prior to the Super Bowl game.
The teams haven’t been decided for the Super Bowl, but the entertainment lineup is already shaping up. ESPN The Magazine said that Ne-Yo and Keri Hilson have been tapped to perform at its annual party on Feb. 5. That’s two days before the Super Bowl. This year’s Super Bowl is in Miami. The party is set for the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel. (Billboard)
Rihanna will be hitting the stage for a free concert.
Rihanna and Justin Bieber will perform in Miami next month at one of two free concerts on South Beach to help celebrate Super Bowl XLIV, according to a press release. The two performers will appear Thursday, Feb. 4 at the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam, the only official NFL Super Bowl concert series on South Beach. The concert, which will be hosted by actor Kevin Dillon and television anchor Nancy O’Dell, will air on VH1 at 9 p.m. ET the night of the show. (Press Release)
Miami rapper Pitbull is also expected to perform during the festivities.
The following day, Feb. 5, the Pepsi Musica Super Bowl Fan Jam will feature Nelly Furtado, Paulina Rubio and Pitbull. That concert, hosted by Telemundo stars Leti Coo and Jessi Losada with actor Karim Mendiburu, will air on Telemundo Feb. 6. Several NFL players also are expected to participate in the two events. For viewers watching the game, reports suggest commercials have already been purchased.
It’s a little less expensive to advertise during the Super Bowl. For the second time in its history, ad prices for pro football’s big game have dropped, but the rates are still the most expensive on television. TNS Media Intelligence says 30-second commercials during next month’s Super Bowl on CBS are selling for between $2.5 million and $2.8 million. That’s a drop from last year, when ads averaged $3 million on NBC. CBS says nearly all of the 62 commercial slots have been sold and the pace of sales has been better than it was for NBC a year ago.
