Model, mogul and mom, Kimora Lee Simmons has been such an inspiration to the world of fashion since her days as a high profile runway model, to her time as a designer and then as a star of her own reality show. If you’ve been keeping up with Kimora’s hit show “Life in the Fab Lane” then you know that this past season, we watched Kimora say goodbye to her clothing line, Baby Phat, which she founded back in 1991. Although she said goodbye to one chapter in her life, Kimora said hello to much more. She got remarried and had a beautiful baby son, Kenzo Lee, which we see often on this season of her show.
Kimora recently took a small break from being her fast paced life as a model, mogul and mom and sat down with the editors of Zap2it telling them,”We could have never planned that all these things would go on this season.”

Kimora also finds it very important to give back to the community and recently teamed up with the nonprofit organization, “Dress for Success”, which helps women who want to rebuild their lives look and feel career ready. Kimora says that she felt as though the organization represented where she was in her own life at this time, and that the women from the organizaion “come from all walks of life”. Kimora has always felt a closeness to her fans, and hopes that others will get involved with the cause also.
Interested in getting involved? Its quite simple, Kimora mentions, “They’re in every community, you can go and donate your time and services. They need all kinds of services based on business and style and really coordinating their life and re-introducing them into the workplace. They need volunteers, they need donations, and clothes. I mean these women need everything, so you can easily go to your local division of Dress for Success or one of their affiliates. They deal with a lot of different groups of people in every community. So, you can always find an affiliate, a sister center so to speak, and you can easily get involved.”
