On March 8, 2010, the Young Money general Lil Wayne was locked away in Rikers for criminal possession of a weapon. In that time, Weezy appeared in numerous videos and even dropped an album. Today he was released four months early due to good behavior. Here are five reasons he should have been in the pokey to begin with.

5. Attempted Suicide

At the age of 13, Lil Wayne accidentally shot himself with a .44 caliber gun. Little Dwayne picked up a gun and started playing with it while blasting music when he accidentally fired a bullet through his chest. If he was in a club, he would’ve gotten the Plaxico Burress treatment.

4. Child Pornography

At the 2009 BET awards fans of Lil Wayne and Drake had to witness the pair hit the stage to perform their hit single “Every Girl,” with a bevy of little girls on stage for the performance.

3. Filling Out False Prescriptions

Lil Wayne spent a bulk of his early popularity sipping purple drank (codeine cough syrup). “Don’t worry about what’s in my cup” was one of his quotes during that time.  But NFL quarterback JaMarcus Russell got the silver bracelets slapped on him for doing the same thing.

2. Breech of Contract

Lil Wayne makes great music but seems to have a problem compensating the folks who help him out behind the boards. Weezy has been sued by producers Bangladesh for his work on “A Milli”, Jim Jonsin for his work on “Lollipop” and Deezle for his work on “Mrs. Officer.”

1. Trademark Infringement

VS

In 2005, Lil Wayne founded his own label Young Money Entertainment as an imprint of Cash Money Records. The logo is a more than liberal adaptation of the NY Yankees Logo. Maybe Hov used his illuminati connects to get The Bronx Bombers to look the other way.
