(AllHipHop News) Drake thanked his fans for helping his debut album Thank Me Later sell over 1 million copies since its release on June 15th. The rapper tweeted a message expressing shock at the fast sales pace. “Thank you to everyone who allowed us to go platinum on a debut album! WOW,” Drake tweeted. The rapper is also resuming his touring schedule when he launches The Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour featuring The Clipse in Miami. The tour kicks off September 21st in Miami and winds down November 4th at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

Producer/turntablist Cut Chemist is preparing to release a new project titled Sound of the Police. The new album is nod to Boogie Down Productions’ classic single of the same titled. The album is a live mix CD highlighting music from and inspired by Africa and South America. Cut Chemist, who helped found Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli, created the mixtape using one turntable, a mixtape, a loop pedal and all original vinyl pressing. Cut Chemist’s album Sound of the Police is due in stores July 27th via the A Stable Sound imprint.
Independent Hip-Hop group Atmosphere will tour the United States this September and October with Rhymesayers label-mates Blueprint, Grieves & Budo and DJ Rare Groove. The rappers will perform 23 dates as part of the “All My Friends” Tour, which will introduce Atmosphere’s solid fan base to Grieves & Budo, the most recent signees to the Rhymesayers label.
