An arrest has been made in the shooting death of an off-duty Prince George’s County trooper working as security for an Applebee’s restaurant. The police will not identify the suspect. A 2 p.m. news conference is scheduled for Monday afternoon.

The trooper was shot after a dispute with a customer over an unpaid bill. Trooper Wesley Brown, 24, was wearing a police jacket and vest at the time. Brown was able to make it back into the restaurant where he collapse and was pronounced dead soon after at an area hospital. Tips came pouring into police and those tips led to the arrest.
