Charges of gross overutilization of healthcare services and willfully making false reports have been filed against Dr. Mark G. Midei, a Towson cardiologists. Midei is accused of performing hundreds of unnecessary procedures, some of which were expensive and risky.

The cardiologist ran a cardiac catheterization lab in St. Joseph Medical Center last year and is alleged to have placed in stents that patients did not need. If the charges are upheld, the doctor could lose his licenses to practice within the state of Maryland.
