If you weren’t at the Drake show last night at Pier Six, then you missed one of the best shows EVER to hit Baltimore. This show was definitely worth the wait. It’s hard to believe that Drake has yet to drop his debut album “Thank Me Later.” The album is set to drop June 15. The crowd went crazy as the Canadian-bred rapper emerged from backstage sporting a Towson University sweat shirt.

“I’m not just saying this but this is the best crowd I have ever performed in front of,” Drake said. Drake’s energy and connection with the crowd eliminated any dull moment during the show. Especially when during his performance, he surprised the crowd by bringing Birdman on the stage to perform “Money To Blow” and “4 My Town.”

It became clear that the 23-year-old knows how to work a crowd. He successfully catered to his hard core male fans and was a hit with his female fan base by turning on the charisma and charm. He invited a young lady to join him on stage as he sang to her. “I came here from Toronto to give you a show you would never forget,” he said.

His 90 minute set included his chart topping hits with Trey Songz, Timbaland, Lil Wayne, and the list goes on. He even gave fans a taste of what to expect on his upcoming album.

It’s undeniable that this young new artist has what it takes to have a prosperous career- great material, singing ability, showmanship, charisma, lyrical genius- but this is just the beginning. The best is yet to come.
