On Sunday, 92Q and Baltimore City came out to celebrate the life of our beloved “Club Queen” DJ K-Swift. Hundreds of people braved the heat and severe thunderstorms to pay tribute to a club music pioneer. There were LIVE mixes, people dancing for hours, club music permeating the area, laughter and lots of fun. The event was cut short about an hour short due to a torrential downpour but that minor setback did not spoil the mood of K-Swift fans. And it’s official – July 25 has been declared K-Swift Day by the City of Baltimore. All the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Khia “DJ K-Swift” Edgerton Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Following the event at Reedbird Park was the dedication of the K-Swift room at Skateworks in Woodlawn and the official afterparty at Bourbon Street in downtown Baltimore. “The afterparty was packed with those who loved K-Swift. To see the impact she left on the community is not able to be described fully in words,” said Kelson, music director of 92Q.

If you weren’t able to make it out to the event, here is what you missed. (More pics and video will be posted throughout today.)
