“Chris Brown Assaults Rihanna” and “Brown Arrested After Alleged Attack On Rihanna” were only two of the many headlines demonizing Brown as a women beater in February 2009. In September 2010, headlines read “Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Accused of Assualting Girlfriend” and “Mayweather Goes Down Swinging At Girlfriend.” What’s the difference? Mayweather is armed and dangerous at all times. With what you ask? His hands. In fact, in some states, boxers must register their body beaters with state and local police.

Brown was charged with two felonies, assault and criminal threatening. Following the Pre-Grammy incident, the pop singer lost endorsements, fans, and airplay while being subjected to public ridicule. Brown has to serve 1,400 community service hours, attend a year of domestic violence classes and pay fines. Not to mention, Brown is on five years probation.

On the other hand, Mayweather was charged with domestic violence in 2010 after punching, arm bending, and pulling the hair of his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris, during an argument in front of two of his children. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and must pay a $2,500 fine. Mayweather was supposed to go to jail on January 6, but his sentence was pushed back until June 6 so that he can prepare to fight Manny Pacquiao.

In reality, both of them were wrong. I will never condone a man putting his hands on a woman. My problem is with the justice system for allowing this type of activity to go on. Moreover, I have a problem with the hypocrites who were bashing Chris Brown but are content with Mayweather’s sentence postponement just so they can see the heavyweight fight Pacquaio in May. What type of bullsh*t is that? There were protests, petition signings, and every media strategy in the book thrown at Brown in hopes that he would give everything up, but Mayweather gets parades filled with floats?

On news and radio website All Access’ calendar, “Road” is set to impact radio on Jan. 31. Brown’s putting the finishing touches on Fortune. On Twitter just days ago he wrote, “LAST TWO WEEKS of me finishing FORTUNE! I’m excited for all the fans to hear my real music.”

10.  In December, Jay-Z and Kanye West performed their hit single, “N***** In Paris,”  10 times  during a Watch The Throne concert at the Staples Center in L.A.  A bit excessive but non the less when they were in Baltimore the show was epic, so I’m sure the fans didn’t mind.

9.  November hits and Mac Miller sold almost 145,000 copies of his debut album, Blue Slide Park. The album topped the Billboard charts—making him the first artist in 16 years to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts without having a major label behind him.

8.  The Ellen Show gave two young girls named Sophia and Rosie  their dream come true. After their rendition of Nicki Minaj’s “Superbass” went viral on Youtube, Ellen DeGeneres brought the two little girls to her show.  During the episod they got the chance to perform the song on the show right before Nicki surprised them by taking the stage to perform with them. The scene was too cute.

7.  During the BET Hip-Hop Awards this year, Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse, and Eminem appeared on a cypher. Yet Royce Da 5’9″ stole the show by spitting the line, “Hi, Rihanna,” into his verse.  The phrase started to trend on twitter and based on all the hype, Rihanna responded, “Hi @RoyceDa59,” on her Twitter account.  I bet Royce was beyond pressed.

6.  In  October, country music star Taylor Swift brought out Kanye West T.I. out at one of her concerts in Atlanta and performed his hit single, “Live Ya Life” with him.  Back stage T.I., Nelly, and Young Jeezy posed for a picture at the concert.

5.  Tyler, The Creator beat Big Sean, Foster the People, Kreayshawn, and Wiz Khalifa( who has won way too many “Best New Artist Awards” anyway)  to take home the Best New Artist award at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. His grand speech includes  an explosive speech and later he fell into Kanye West’s arms when he stepped off the stage in tears.

4.  Eminem‘s Recovery album, which was released back in 2010, became the first digital recording ever to surpass a million digital sales in 2011.  Eminem is know to break records, but damn even Lady Gaga had to sell hers for cheap to make that.

3.  Beyonce became the first black woman to headline the Glastonbury Festival.  She did it just a few years after her husband Jay-Z caused a huge stir by becoming the first hip-hop act to headline the event.

2.  In February, Eminem was catapulted to an even larger scale with his participation in one of the most costly Super Bowl commercials of all-time (9 million that is) by lending his voice and his vocals to an ad for the Chrysler 200 that also put his hometown of Detroit in the spotlight.

1. NFL will never be the same. In January Wiz Khalifa took his hit single, “Black & Yellow,” all the way back to his black and yellow roots by performing the track before the AFC Championship between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets. #Epic

That Drake lyric came from none other than Rihanna, who was recently caught up in a “love triangle” between him and Chris Brown. The Twitter message was followed by “#Practice is my NYE song! I need to see some strippers go ape shit to this!”

Rihanna is referring to Drake’s remake of “Back That A** Up” on his sophomore album Take Care. We don’t know if the tweet was aimed at ex-Chris Brown but clearly she likes, Drake’s album just as much as we do!
