Baltimore club music is nothing new to area locals but according to the Washington Post, 92Q has put the club scene and home grown music on the map and across international waters. 92Q’s beloved DJ K-Swift was a pioneer in the movement during the late 90’s and after her untimely death fans weren’t sure whether Baltimore club music would ever be the same. “The city hurt a while when Swift passed. She was basically the one to put club on the radio. [92Q was] playing club, but she made it known. And she took it to other cities,” Porkchop told the newspaper.

Club promoters and DJs are following Swift’s lead by reinvigorating the classic Baltimore club sound. Although mainstream artists like Nicki Minaj, Drake and T.I. are in heavy rotation, a powerful dose of club music surfaces several hours during the weekdays and weekends.
