Why Are You Still Single?

Three Ways to End a Bad Relationship ….. And Never Go Back

Balance Out the Bad with the Good

We have a tendency to romanticize old relationships and only remember the good things that we now miss.  Make sure when you think of all of the good things that you also remember all of the bad things that led to the break.  People rarely change and the odds are pretty good that if the person was a jerk, a cheat or not a good fit two weeks ago; they are the same thing today. Stay honest with yourself about why the love ended.

Fill the Void

You have to fill the time he/she use to occupy in your life with new pursuits. In relationships we develop habits and if you are use to calling in the evening, spending long weekends or spending all your free time with someone it is so easy to simply fall back into those old patterns or miss them deeply.  Focus on you in order to break these habits.  Now is the time for career, family and hobbies.  Fill the void left when the lover left and you will soon find that you no longer miss the “habit” of the old lover.

Stop Communicating!!!!!

This is the one people never ever get! You cannot say you are done with a person if you are still calling, texting, sexing or stalking them.  Moving on involves not communicating at all with an ex.  Some people you simply cannot just be friends with and you need to end things cold.  Now I know some of you are saying “LaDawn we have kids. We can’t not talk.” You are right, but you have to redefine how you now speak to your ex-lover — if it is not about the business of the kids, we don’t talk. If this does not work, you may need to bring in a third party for a few months to act as the go between when it comes to you, the kids and your ex until you get to a place of accepting the break.

Is it unrealistic to expect men/women not to have sex in order to pursue their religious calling?

A Baltimore highschool held a safe sex class where an educator demonstrated oral sex on a sex toy to teach proper condom use.  The Love Zone on Wednesday was all about whether or not schools should be teaching our kids about sex.

Should Schools Teach Our Kids About Sex?

Yes!!! Home and in school!!! The visual is appropriate also but only starting in highschool. It is embarrassing, lol, but it’s needed, and teens will benefit from the knowledge. “If you know better, you’ll do better” – Stanford

The fact of the matter is..kids are into sex, its blasted throughout our social media. Contraceptive sex education should be taught throughout the school system. Half of these kids don’t even have parents…so where else are they going to learn??..from their 15yr old friend??? O_o – Jasmine

I say “yes” as well. As long as a consent form was sent home and/or is on file at the school. Can’t stop teens from having sex regardless of what your values are. Some don’t have parents who are discussing pregnancy, STD/STIs, safe sex, hygiene, etc. Being educated means you can make the right educated decision for yourself and your health. – Lori
