As the days go by, Rich Homie Quan continues to dig himself deeper and deeper into a whole. As we watched ‘Hip Hop Honors’ this past Monday as Vh1 honored Queen Latifah, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott and Salt-n-Pepa, we saw that Rich Homie Quan messed up Biggie’s verse on ‘Get Money’ with Lil Kim.

After receiving so much heat on social media for the mess up, he issued an apology.

I assure you that I never intended to disrespect Biggie Smalls. I have long respected his work and his contribution to the rap game.I greatly apologize not only to Biggie Smalls, but also to all of my fans and to New York. The city of New York has been nothing but good to me. I felt honored to stand on stage with artists I grew up listening to.Once on stage I had some technical difficulties and must admit I got nervous.I will forever be sorry to New York, my fans, Biggie Small, Lil Kim, and all the Hip Hop community for my performance. I hope you can accept my apology. To Lil Kim, Thank you for the opportunity.

Queen Bee even reposted his apology and folks started to look the other way. Digging himself deeper into a whole by speaking to an Atlanta radio station, he spoke in detail about the technical issues he faced while on stage. He says that it the was the teleprompter that was having difficulties and that being from Atlanta he didn’t know too much Biggie.

Being from Atlanta I grew up on Kilo Ali, Outkast, T.I….only song I know by Biggie is ‘Juicy.’”

RHQ also states that he only learned about doing the tribute a day before the performance. Also, the teleprompter malfunctioned at the beginning of his performance.

Excuses, excuses, excuses. He could have politely declined.
