Just under a week after Catherine Pugh was declared the winner of the Baltimore City Democratic Primary race for the Mayor of Baltimore City, Shelia Dixon’s campaign is asking for the results to be investigated.  Citing that the issues with polling places opening on time as well as numerous issues reported with staff training and resources at the polls are reason for the results to be investigated.  Pugh was declared the winner with 37% of the votes – while Dixon received 34% – that’s only a difference of 2,800 votes

Dixon’s campaign is asking that the results be discarded until the investigation is complete.

“With the cumulative effect of all of these irregularities, we believe that the integrity of the election has been compromised, and we believe every vote should count. This was an historic election in the city of Baltimore,” Hassan Giordano with the Dixon campaign told WBAL NewsRadio 1090 AM.
