For Atlanta traffic reporter Mark Arum, A Tribe Called Quest was more than just a rap group, and his unique on-air tribute to the late Phife Dawg proved as much.

Arum, along with WSB-TV’S Fred Blankenship, took the creative route by including Malik Issac Taylor’s lyrics in Wednesday’s traffic report. Arum incorporated lyrics from ATCQ’s “Award Tour” and “Oh My God,” and still managed to effortlessly report on accidents and roadblocks throughout the city.

“This rush hour is coming with more hits than the Braves or the Yankees,” Arum said in reference to Phife’s verse on “Award Tour.” Next he revamped a line from the legendary rap group’s 1993 single “Oh My God“:

“One for the treble, two for the bass/ You know the style Mark McKay/ Time to flip this.”

Phife passed at the age of 45 on March 22 after a longtime battle with diabetes.

Arum continued to honor the rapper in his awesome way on Twitter:

In a Facebook Live video with Blankenship, the reporters explained how they’ve thrown hip-hop lyrics into traffic reports in the past, but had to take it up a notch for their favorite emcee.
