2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards On NBC - Arrivals

While most artists are ecstatic when their project finally gets released, Jeremih is clearly in the minority.

As Late Nights hit the ‘net last week, Jeremih erupted in anger, claiming Def Jam (or Deaf Jam as he referred to it) undersold his album, ultimately impeding his album sales.

His series of tweets read, “@DeafJamRecords y’all don’t even deserve my voice,” he wrote. “It’s not the fact that mi album was actually priced 18.99. There’s actually no CD’s in the stores to even buy ,that’s the main point. each Best Buy was shipped 6-7 copies a piece. We checked in to the Corporate offices at Best Buy in Chicago and they told us LateNights wasn’t on this wks added shipment list ,nor next weeks ?? #MyAlbumJustDroppedLastWeek. It’s ok though I got some’n for everybody who tried me.”

Late Nights: The Album experienced many pushbacks, including Sept. 30, and Nov. 4, before it eventually dropped on December 4. He spoke on the issue with Billboard last month saying, “My label is hesitating and not being on my side. I see other artists and how they’re supported. It’s hard when I’m on a roster with Rihanna, Rick Ross and Kanye West.

Jeremih isn’t the only artist on the Def Jam roster to complain. August Alsina recently blamed the label for leaking his sophomore album This Thing Called Life.
