The votes are in and the Baltimore City Paper has released it’s Best of Baltimore Awards for 2015, and 92Q’s QJays were well represented!

Winning the award for “Best Radio DJs” was The Fam – Quicksilva and Lil Mo!

“For weeks leading up to April 27, there were teasers about a big change coming to the 92Q. On April 27, the schedule switched to bring back Quicksilva and Lil Mo as afternoon DJs. But instead of the prize giveaways and guest call-ins they had scheduled to do, their return coincided with the confrontation between police and children at Mondawmin. It seemed like ‘Glory’ by Common and John Legend played about four times in an hour, instead of your usual late spring, fresh-out-of-school afternoon jams, and Quick and Mo took live calls from people in the city and specifically asked that youth call in and share their opinions and frustrations. They had teachers from BCPS speaking on air, saying how they love their students and just wanted them to be safe. Their composure and real concern was a sincere expression of love for the community.”

And of course you know who the “Best Club DJ” was – Ms Oww Oww herself – DJ Angel Baby!

“We feel like we’re pretty much repeating ourselves here because AngelBaby was given this award last year and probably deserved it the year before that—or at least her own award—and it seems like our reminding y’all of why she’s the heir to K-Swift as club ambassador will be one of those annual traditions for a long time. So in case you don’t know: AngelBaby is keeping club alive on a semi-mainstream level thanks to her weekday K-Swift tribute mixes on 92Q, the many parties she holds down including the occasional hipster party at The Crown, and most importantly, her ongoing “Get Pumped” mixtape series, the third of which arrived at the beginning of the year and once again acts as a speedy primer on what’s going on with local club and club music in nearby Philly and Jersey.”

Congrats to Lil Mo, Quick, and Angel for reppin’ 92Q in the 2015 Best of Baltimore!
