Despite the failure of Lifetime‘s take on Aaliyah’s biopic, critics are giving surprisingly positive reviews of Lifetime’s latest film project Whitney, directed by Angela Bassett. Yaya DeCosta received rave reviews for her potrayal of the late great pop star Whitney Houston:
