The Associated Press is reporting that actress and BET talk show host, KeKe Palmer will play the title role in “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella” at the Broadway Theatre.  Her run begins Sept. 9 and she will become the first African-American to play the role on Broadway.

The title role was previously graced by Tony-nominated Laura Osnes, Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen and is being currently played by Paige Faure.

“It’s honestly one of those things that I can’t believe is really happening,” Palmer told AP.  “I’m very excited. Very excited and nervous as well — a bunch of feelings all at once.”
