People Magazine recently released their list of the Top 5 Most Important People In Music.

Check it out!

#5 – Kendrick Lamar:

“Bitch, don’t kill my vibe” became a household saying in 2013.  The California rapper covered magazines like Billboard and GQ and his highly-publicized Grammy loss to Macklemeore and Ryan Lewis got a massive response from hip hop critics and fans alike (even Macklemeore himself).  His murder-kill cypher at the BET Hip Hop Awards was also a definitive career moment for Kendrick Lamar.

#4 – Sia

Besides her major hit, “Titanium” with David Guerra, this singer/songwriter is behind major hits like Madonna‘s 2012 album MDNA, Flo Rida‘s “Wild Ones”, Ne-Yo‘s “Let Me Love You” and Britney Spears‘ 2013 album Britney Jean.

#3 – Avicii

This Grammy nominated Swedish DJ and producer shot to the top of US charts with his smash, “Wake Me Up!” featuring Aloe Blacc and “Hey Brother.”  He’s considered one of the elite DJ’s of the EDM movement.

#2 – Pharrell

Pharrell managed to make the whole world “Happy” in 2013 and 2014 with one major song. Pharrell is no newbie to the game.  His ability to constantly evolve in music is almost uncanny. His “Blurred Lines” collaboration with Robin Thicke and T.I. and “Get Lucky” with Daft Punk proved to also be the most popular songs of the year.

#1 – Beyonce

I guess it pays off when you drop a surprise video album and sell a quick milli!  There are multiple reasons why King Bey tops this list so… we don’t even have to get into it.  Beyonce definitely super-served her fans in 2013 and seems to have more major plans for the upcoming year.
