Kennedy Brown is fighting a serious battle with brain cancer. Classmates of 15-year-old Houston native have rallied together to support their ailing friend by throwing her a surprise prom.
“We realized we need to do this for her so that she can get this experience that we’re all going to get,” event organizer Betsy Goodfriend told ABC13 Houston.
In addition to the prom, the Houston Rockets fan was surprised by Clutch the team’s mascot and received her very own graduation ceremony where she received an honorary degree.
The students of Carnegie Vanguard High have done a lot to lift the Brown since her illness has become terminal, but there is still one wish they have left to grant, and that’s the opportunity for her to meet her favorite rapper Drake.
