Thousands of fans were treated to a great night of hoops action at the Comcast Center on Saturday as NFL players and other celebrities took part in the “Battle of the Beltway!” The event attracted a huge crowd and was co-hosted by the Torrey Smith Foundation and Skins star Ryan Kerrigan’s Blitz for the Better Foundation. Torrey captained the Ravens side full of current and former players including Jacoby Jones, Terrell Suggs, Hiloti Ngata, Anquan Boldin, Tyrod Taylor, Sam Koch, Marlon Brown, Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden and many more! Ryan Kerrigan led the opposition with an all-star squad including Hall of Famer Darrell Green, D’Angelo Hall, Panthers star Greg Hardy, Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton, Big Tigger and DC’s own Wale to name a few! It was a hard fought battle that featured high-flying dunks and air balls too that reminded us why these guys play football for a living! In the end, the Ravens side pulled out the victory in overtime, 63-61. But the real winners were the two player’s foundations that raised thousands of dollars for area youth programs and scholarships!
