Actor and funnyman Bill Bellamy found time to chat with me about a few new projects he’s been working on including one set to air on BET/CENTRIC premiering this Saturday!
The hilarious two-hour event took place during Soul Train Awards weekend at Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas where host and “Mr. Box Office” star Bill Bellamy presented some of the hottest up-and-coming acts in the game. But nothing could top the celebration of an industry vet.
Robert Townsend was honored with the Centric Comedy Icon Award for his outstanding work as an actor, director, producer and writer with works such as Hollywood Shuffle, The Mighty Quinn, The Five Heartbeats, The Parent ‘Hood and more.
With nearly four decades in entertainment under his belt, Townsend continues to stay active with work on 2014’s Playin’ For Love and a rumored Five Heartbeats sequel.
Mark Curry, Tony Roberts, Gina Yashere, Rudy Rush, Rob Stapleton and others also make appearances during the show that is sure to keep you laughing.
The premiere of “Centric’s Comedy All-Stars” airs Saturday (Mar. 15) at 10 p.m. EST.
