Shipping/Receiving Clerk (Baltimore, MD)

Precision machine shop is in need of a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to oversee the incoming and outgoing shipping activities of the company. The primary duty of this position is to coordinate the delivery and pickup of our manufactured parts to and from our vendors and to ultimately ensure our clients are receiving their parts by their required delivery dates.

This position requires a basic familiarity with blue prints, purchase orders and contracts in order to verify information and inform parties of important changes or information. Candidate must also know how items should best be handled, packaged and shipped. Candidates must be able to perform basic mathematical operations and operate basic office systems (i.e. phone, fax, intercom, email, copier, etc.) Highly developed customer service skills are a must which is only helped by excellent time management and organizational skills. Familiarity with the metal fabrication or manufacturing industry is preferred as is a basic knowledge of metal finishing processes and standards (i.e. chromate, painting, anodize, and passivation, etc.). Candidates must be able to work in a high volume and fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
