In the midst of a long and endless debate a decision has finally been made for Penn State and the supporting community. Long time figure and coach Joe Paterno’s statue has been taken down and removed from the college. The process was done with a forklift and for the Penn State fans and students who watched the removal take place they chanted in unison “We are Penn State”.

With belief that the Paterno figure caused a division on the campus and within the Penn State community, Penn State’s President Rodney Erickson released a statement “I now believe that, contrary to is original intention, Coach Paterno’s statue has become a source of division and an obstacle to hearing in our university and beyond. For that reason, I have decided that it is in the best interest of our university and public safety to remove the statue and store it in a secure location.”
