I know all of us who love her voice, wish that “Figure Out” was the name of a new single from Jazmine Sullivan, but unfortunately it’s not.
Just a few minutes ago via Twitter, the soulful songbird has just decided that she is taking a “break” from music. Check out Jazmine’s announcement after the jump.

i’m making an official announcement that i am taking a break from music. i’m trying to figure out who i am… w/out a mike, paper or pen.
i promised myself when it wasn’t fun anymore i wouldn’t do it. and here i am. i’m not saying i wont ever sing again in my life becuz i dont
believe that. but in this moment… rt now… i got some things to figure out. i love u all and appreciate u soooooo much. u have no idea
how much u’ve inspired me and fed my ego. but the truth is that i have to believe in me whether you all do or not. and thats what i’m lookin
for. that belief in myself. me. I. i love us. thanks for being here for me and riding with me on this journey. let us continue.
Is it selfish of me to be mad at Jazmine Sullivan for wanting to take a break from music? I understand her desire to want to find who she really is, and if this music business is for her. I get it! This business can be a monster. With all the demands, the crazy schedules, the pressure, personal issues can be alot. I think my biggest dissapointment is that there isn’t too many REAL singers in this industry. To see her want to take a break, and who knows if she will return, is kind of sad. Whatever Jazmine does decide to do, I will definitely keep my prayers. I do think it is very important for everyone to find out and know who they really are.
